The Venue

Live Music in Charlotte's Noda

Originally built as a movie theater in 1945 (Astor Theatre), it closed in the late 1970s. Neighborhood Theatre underwent restoration in 1997 and was converted into a live performance venue. Neighborhood Theatre is a live music venue hosting local and national acts. We are located in NoDa, Charlotte’s historic arts district, filled with restaurants, shops and bars. Neighborhood Theatre is the perfect setting to see a show from an old favorite or to discover a new band that energizes and excites you.

Neighborhood Theatre serves as the community anchor for Charlotte's vibrant and walkable NODA historic arts district, where it sits alongside some of the city's most beloved shops, bars and restaurants. Originally built as the Astor Theatre in 1945 as part of the post-war movie theater boom, Neighborhood Theatre was converted into one of the nation's premier live concert venues in 1997, and now features a small room for up-and-coming acts, and a main room which plays host to touring acts as exciting as the neighborhood it calls home. We welcome you to enjoy both old favorites and find new discoveries in the city's favorite venue with something for everyone.

Neighborhood Theatre is an independent music venue with a diverse lineup of acts…something for everyone. We welcome you to come and enjoy live music with us.

The Theatre is handicap accessible and non-smoking.

Open Floor Setup: Most shows have the area in front of the stage open for standing room only and often have limited general admission seating in the back of the main hall*. With this setup, we often offer Reserved Seating in the Balcony upstairs & Reserved Tables on the bar side. *At times there are no seats in the main hall and very limited seating elsewhere in the venue.

Gold Circle Setup: If Gold Circle tickets are offered then the area in front of the stage is filled with reserved assigned seats. The rest of the main hall would be open for standing room only. With this setup, we often offer Reserved Seating in the Balcony & Reserved Tables on the bar side.

Reserved Cocktail Table 4-pack: This option is offered on many of our shows. This includes 4 tickets to the show and a reserved table.

*The balcony and cocktail tables are strictly 21+.
