Jai’Len Josey weaves a vibrant, vulnerable, and vital patchwork of sounds and experiences together in her music. All kinds of romantic happenings and mis-happenings replay across a soundscape steeped in styles as diverse as R&B, hip-hop, old school Detroit House, and even timeless musical theater. This kaleidoscope of vibes projects her personality out loud, not only as a Platinum-selling singer-songwriter, musician, and Broadway star, but also as a confident and charismatic woman, an impassioned poet, and a visionary creator. Rewinding to high school, she often watched YouTube videos and mimicked instruments like the cello, bass, and flute to develop a distinct delivery that would later serve her well. Given her versatility, she went from shining on Broadway as “Pearl” in The SpongeBob Musical: Live on Stage! to launching a successful solo career. She sharpened an incomparable signature style on Illustrations EP [2020] and SOUTHERN DELICACY EP [2023]. Emerging as an in-demand songwriter behind-the-scenes, she penned a pair of songs on Ari Lennox’s Age/Sex/Location, including the platinum-certified “Pressure.” Hitting the road, Lennox handpicked her as support on the Age/Sex/Location Tour.
